Friday started of with mizzly rain which was enough to dampen the circuit. With the circuit a bit green the decision was taken to run both machines with wets fitted
Out Ciara went on the Team Wood Youth Academy Tianda. Running consistent 1:32 laps Ciara Qualified 6th with a best time of 1:32.129
By this stage the circuit was dry and going out on slicks. Making a good start Ciara was running 5th running lap times down into 1:29's but for some reason the Tianda got slower the warmer it ran. With her getting her time down to 1:29.678 which was fantastic. By the end of the 8 laps Ciara was 5th overall.
With the BTC rider's coming back home to compete in the class meant it was going to be hard to get in competitive times with most of the bikes at the front being BTC spec in comparison to Ciara's standard machine. Out on wets on what was now a drying track, Ciara had taken advice to ride on the damp patches to keep the tyres cool. By the end of the session there was no wet patches left and Ciara Qualified 9th with a time of 1:24.251.
Back on Slicks of Ciara went, but with a false start in group 2, it was red flagged and restarted. Ciara ran 8th all race long dropping her times to 1:22.956.
Weather was dry but windy, rain threatening to hit after lunchtime.
Race 1 on the programme for Saturday was the Moto1 class. Ciara lined up 6th on the grid. After getting cracking start and running third on the road and riding really well, she finished up fourth in the race in what was her last race in the Moto1 class. Running 1:31 lap times throughout the race setting a fastest time of 1:31.558
With a light shower just as the Supersport pro class took to the track, they were put back but as the Moto3 riders were in pitlane, it was decided to send them out. Dilemma in what tyres to go for wets or slicks or mixed. It was decided for Ciara to go out on slicks as, with the wind, the track was drying. Once again a wise head on young shoulders she took her time to allow tyres to get warmed up. With Jonny Parker not making the start of the race, Ciara was running a lonely race on her own finishing 7th and recording her fastest time on the last lap of 1:23.558.
Qualifying was first up on the Tianda with a dry circuit Ciara chipped away to qualify 5th with a time of 1:31.126.
By this stage the rain had starting falling, Ciara seems to enjoy the wet and was running 3rd for the first 3 laps. The Team Wood Tianda was in Ciara's words slow but she continued to circulate ending up 4th with a fastest lap of 1:35.009. This is a very creditable result when you take in the deteriorating track condition's.
With only one session between Moto1 and the Moto3 class it was a quick turnaround for Ciara. With the circuit still dry but the rain was threatening. They only got a couple of laps when it starting to rain really heavy at the bottom of the circuit, the riders all took the decision to come in as they were all out on slicks. The session was red flagged and the competitors were allowed 20 minutes to change to full wets. They still had 7 minutes to go in the session so out they went and Ciara rode brilliantly to qualified 4th with a best time of 1:26.022.
The weather continued to deteriorate the rain getting heavier and the wind getting stronger the Officials decided to abandon the meeting on the grounds of safety.
This was first session on circuit of the morning, Ciara was out on the Team Wood Tianda where she took her time to get back back into race mode but as we've come to know she just gets back in the groove and gets on with it. Qualifying 7th with a time of 1:15.796
After a decent start Ciara was lying 6th, ended up running on own on track she rode very well to finish 5th with a best lap time of 1:13.504
Again getting of the line well and not being able to run with the other 300cc machines Ciara once again rode sensibly in a comfortable 5th place with a best lap time of 1:13.201
The Moto3 session was running third so Ciara had only the one session between them, she didn't get much time to regroup. A quick drink and back on the bike. Running on the Bryan Harding Honda consistently in 1:09's, Ciara ended up qualifying 7th with a time of 1:09.212
With the Moto1 and Moto3 being swapped about for racing. Ciara's first race was then out on Byran's Honda. There again running consistent 1:09's Ciara rode her own race finishing 6th with a best lap time of 1:09.558
Ciara is getting better on her starts with the moto3 machine. throughout the race she run in 1:08's which got her a finish in 5th place and her fastest lap of 1:08.259
So that's Round 7 done and dusted and the B & D series of meetings finished for 2025. Overall a good day with both bikes running well, the Tianda still a bit slow but we think that's a gearing issue. Hopefully her Moto3 race buddy ( Jonny Parker ) will be back for the next round . We would like to Congratulate Clerk of the Course Chris Crowe on a well run meeting and thank all the Officials, Marshal's ( Road & Flag ) Medics for everything. Wishing all those who come off and taken to Hospital a speedy recovery.
